Puppies are born in a 4 ft by 4 ft puppy pen. They are safe and warm in there under a heat
lamp.
I leave the doors open so that the mommas can go in and out as they need to go
to the bathroom, or walk around.
I have had many compliments on my way of raising
puppies. Comments are made on the cleanliness, nice size of the puppy pens and the obvious
love and devotion to my dogs.
My puppies
have a fresh, clean blanket to sleep on, daily.
This is
very important in the paper training process.
At 3
weeks of age, I set up newspaper close to the puppy blanket so that the puppies can
walk away from their blanket to go potty. As they get older they are able to walk further to go potty
on the newspaper.
This process is highly succesful in potty
training puppies.
They do not like to potty where they sleep
so they will walk to the newspaper.
When my puppies leave
my home, they are usually paper trained which makes it easier for the new owners to house train them.
